Canon in D Major

Canon in D Major

My rendition of Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major: just in time for an upcoming event 🙂 I didn’t like any of the arrangements online that I found, so I took it upon myself this afternoon to recreate this audio by ear.
It teaches/reinforces students about/on:

  • Dynamic tiering
  • Multiple voices
  • Baroque ornamentation
  • The trickiness of sprawling orchestral reductions
  • … and how tremolos on pitched-percussion instruments are the best way to emulate intense, sustained notes.
